Helping with homework is one of the daily tasks that some parents find difficult to do. With the right attitude and a few strategies, guiding children in doing their homework will seem less daunting.

Figure out if you child likes to do their homework in a certain order. Such as, do they like to do the hardest first or vise versa. Maybe they prefer to start with math and finishing with reading. You can offer them suggestions, but let them make the final decision.
Allow your child the opportunity to work independently but not alone. Be available to help your child if he becomes “stuck” but do not be in the room being a distraction. The purpose of the textbook is not the same as other books. Novels are written to entertain and inspire, non-fiction works are written to engage and inform, but textbooks are written to support a class. When reading a textbook, the purpose is not to learn everything in the book, but to prepare for a class by getting a first exposure to the information and by creating questions.
The bottom line is that you, and you alone will need to determine which degree will be better for you. This will all depend on your career goals and aspirations.
